Servings: 8
- 1 chocolate cookie pie crust such as Oreo crust
- 1 box chocolate instant pudding mix
- 3/4 cup cold milk
- 1 8 oz tub whipped topping, thawed
- 1 small chocolate bar for shaving
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and slightly thickened.
Fold in one-third of the whipped topping gently until combined.
Add another third of the whipped topping and fold again until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
Spoon the filling into the prepared chocolate crust and smooth the top evenly.
Transfer the remaining whipped topping into a plastic bag and snip off the corner to create a simple piping bag.
Pipe swirls or dollops across the surface of the pie, filling in any gaps.
Use a grater to shave chocolate over the top for garnish.
Refrigerate or freeze the pie for at least 1 hour until set.
Slice and serve chilled or slightly frozen, depending on your preference.
Use cold milk so the pudding sets quickly and properly.
Fold the whipped topping gently to keep the filling light and airy.
Freeze for a firmer texture or refrigerate for a softer bite.
Swap the crust with graham cracker crust for a different flavor.
Add chocolate chips inside the filling for extra texture.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
