Ingredients

  • 1 lb Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 1/4 cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 3 tbsp Honey
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 Lime juiced
  • 1 tsp Sriracha more if you like heat
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Oil divided
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • To taste Salt and Black Pepper
  • Garnish: Sesame Seeds and sliced Scallions

Instructions

  • Preparation: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Whisk the Glaze: In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, lime juice, Sriracha, 1 tablespoon of the sesame oil, and the cornstarch until well combined.
  • Sear the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper. In a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of sesame oil.
  • Develop Color: Add the chicken to the skillet and sear until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side.
  • Bake: Pour the prepared glaze over the chicken in the skillet. Transfer the entire pan to the oven and bake until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F), about 25 minutes.
  • Broil: Turn your oven to the Broil setting. Spoon the thickened glaze from the pan over the chicken breasts. Broil for 2 minutes until the glaze is bubbling and dark.
  • Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with sesame seeds and chopped scallions, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Skillet Safety: Ensure your skillet is truly oven-safe (no plastic handles). If you don't have one, transfer the seared chicken to a baking dish before adding the glaze.
  • Control the Heat: The Sriracha adds a mild kick; if you prefer a spicier profile, feel free to double the amount or add red pepper flakes.
  • Even Cooking: If your chicken breasts are very thick, pound them to an even thickness before searing to ensure they cook at the same rate.
  • Sauce Consistency: If you prefer an even thicker sauce, you can simmer the remaining glaze on the stovetop for a minute after removing the chicken.
