Homemade Hamburger Helper

- 1 lb lean ground beef 500 g
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Pinch to ½ tsp cayenne powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1½ cups milk 355 ml
- 1½ cups beef broth 355 ml
- 2 cups elbow macaroni uncooked (260 g)
- 8 oz can 227 g tomato sauce
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese 225 g
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Brown beef with onion and seasonings—paprika, parsley, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Drain excess fat if needed.
Stir in milk, beef broth, macaroni, and tomato sauce. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
Remove lid, stir in cheddar cheese until silky and combined.
