Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread cut in half lengthwise
  • 2 bell peppers any color
  • 1/2 medium onion diced
  • 1 pound ground chuck or sirloin beef
  • 1 15 oz. can Manwich Bold Sauce
  • 2 –3 cups shredded cheddar and jack cheeses combined

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Line a baking sheet with foil and place French bread halves cut side up.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Sauté diced onion for 2 minutes.
  • Add bell peppers and cook for 3 minutes until softened.
  • Crumble in ground beef, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Cook until beef is no longer pink, then drain excess fat.
  • Stir in the Manwich Bold Sauce and heat through.
  • Spread Sloppy Joe mixture evenly over both bread halves.
  • Top generously with shredded cheddar and jack cheeses.
  • Bake for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Cool slightly before slicing into 2-inch pieces.
