Ingredients

  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • Juice of 1 small lemon
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Green onions chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, and lemon juice.
  • Add shrimp and marinade to a zip-top bag or bowl. Seal and marinate for 30 minutes in the fridge.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter.
  • Remove shrimp from marinade (reserve marinade). Season shrimp with salt and pepper.
  • Sear shrimp for 2 minutes per side, or until pink and lightly golden.
  • Pour reserved marinade into the skillet and simmer until sauce thickens, about 2–3 minutes.
  • Serve hot, garnished with green onions.

Notes

  • No time to marinate? Just cook the shrimp in the sauce — it still tastes great.
  • Add red pepper flakes for heat, or ginger for warmth.
  • Serve with: rice, noodles, stir-fried veggies, or in lettuce cups.
