5 Ingredient Beef Stroganoff

This 5-Ingredient Beef Stroganoff is the definition of no-fuss comfort food. Just throw everything into your crock pot and come back to tender beef in a rich, creamy sauce — perfect over egg noodles and ready to soothe any kind of day.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb stew meat
  • 1 10.75 oz can cream of onion soup (or 1 packet Lipton onion soup mix + extra can of cream of mushroom)
  • 1 10.75 oz can cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 8 oz egg noodles cooked
  • 1 4 oz can sliced mushrooms (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a crock pot, combine stew meat, cream of onion soup, and cream of mushroom soup. Add mushrooms if using.
  • Cover and cook on low for 3–4 hours, until beef is tender. (Check early if your slow cooker runs hot.)
  • When beef is done, stir to combine and turn off heat.
  • Cook egg noodles according to package directions.
  • Just before serving, stir sour cream into the beef mixture.
  • Spoon over egg noodles and serve hot.

Notes

  • Shortcut tip: Use pre-cooked egg noodles and warm them before serving.
  • Add-ins: A splash of Worcestershire or garlic powder adds more depth.
  • Don’t overcook: Some slow cookers cook hotter — check meat doneness at 2.5 hours.
