Garlic Feta Dip

When you need a dip that strikes the perfect balance between bold, salty tang and smooth, velvety creaminess, this Garlic Feta Dip is an absolute essential. This recipe utilizes a dual-texture approach by blending part of the feta cheese into a whipped base of light cream cheese and Greek yogurt, while reserving the rest for a chunky, flavorful topping. Infused with fresh garlic and a bright hit of lemon juice, this dip offers a refreshing Mediterranean profile that feels much lighter than traditional heavy party dips, making it a sophisticated choice for any appetizer spread.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Crumbled Feta Cheese divided
  • 4 oz Light Cream Cheese Neufchatel, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup Plain Non-fat Greek Yogurt
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1/8 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/2 cup Red Bell Pepper finely diced
  • 1 –2 tbsp Fresh Parsley chopped
  • For Serving: Crackers fresh veggies, pita bread, or pita chips

Instructions

  • Process the Base: In a food processor fitted with the steel blade, place two-thirds (4 oz) of the feta cheese, the softened cream cheese, Greek yogurt, garlic cloves, lemon juice, dried oregano, and black pepper.
  • Blend: Process the mixture until it is completely smooth and whipped. You may need to scrape down the sides once to ensure all the garlic is fully incorporated.
  • Transfer: Use a spatula to move the smooth dip into a shallow serving bowl.
  • Top and Garnish: Sprinkle the remaining one-third (2 oz) of the crumbled feta over the top. Add the finely diced red bell pepper and the freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and texture.
  • Serve or Store: Serve immediately with your favorite crackers and fresh vegetables. If you aren't serving right away, cover and refrigerate for up to 1 day.
  • Pro Tip: If making ahead of time, wait to add the bell peppers and parsley until just before serving to keep them crisp and vibrant.

Notes

  • Cheese Temperature: Ensure your cream cheese is truly at room temperature. Cold cream cheese will result in a lumpy dip rather than a smooth, whipped texture.
  • Garlic Intensity: If you aren't a fan of strong raw garlic, you can use roasted garlic cloves for a sweeter, more subtle flavor profile.
  • Salt Control: Feta is naturally very salty, so taste the dip before adding any additional salt.
  • Thinning the Dip: If the dip is too thick for your preference after chilling, stir in a teaspoon of milk or extra Greek yogurt to loosen it up.
