Nutella Brownies

- 1/3 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs room temperature
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups Nutella divided
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Optional: 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- Optional: flaky sea salt for topping
Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Line an 8-inch or 9-inch square pan with parchment paper or foil, leaving overhang for easy removal.
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter on high speed until smooth and creamy.
Add the brown sugar and beat until light and fluffy, about 1–2 minutes.
With the mixer on low, add eggs and vanilla, then increase speed and mix until combined.
Beat in 1 cup of Nutella and salt until smooth and fluffy.
Add flour and mix on low speed just until combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in chocolate chips if using.
Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
Drop teaspoonfuls of remaining Nutella over the batter and swirl gently with a knife.
Sprinkle lightly with sea salt if desired.
Bake for 32–36 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cool completely in the pan, then lift out and cut into squares.
